Service Description
This course explores a variety of techniques to alter and add movement to wheel-thrown forms. Faceting, darting, gestural alterations, stamping, paddling, and other methods will be explored to add movement and personality to our pots! This is a great way to begin exploring exciting shapes and forms in pottery. This is a stacked skillset class. Students who feel they have a modest understanding of the basics and have taken at least 1-2 sessions of intro to wheel throwing should have no problem participating in this course. These skills do not require perfect mastery as we are learning Ages 12+ To Bring: Notebook/sketchbook and writing utensil. Laptop or smart device for research. Old clothes or attire you don’t mind getting a little dirty. Your favorite pottery tools. Tool kits will be available for purchase on the first day of class for $15. If students would prefer to bring in tools for class on their own, the following will be required for this class: a metal rib, wooden rib, needle tool, wire tool, sponge, wooden knife, fettling knife, and trimming tools. Additional Costs: Glazing and firing fee: $35 One bag of clay is included in the class cost. Additional clay can be purchased from Wooten Clayworks if desired. Pay As You Go: Please note, you pay a $100 deposit when you book this course. If you do not pay the remaining $210 for the course at the first class, we do offer payment plans. However, the price per class increases to $57.50 each class. The deposit amount will be put towards your last 2 classes in this case. Refunds are not available once the course has begun. Payment plans are available for members and long term students. We do our best to work with the community to offer them quality ceramic education and resources.

Cancellation Policy
Bookings for classes, workshops, events, and private lessons which are canceled 7 calendar days or more prior to the class or event will receive a full refund. Any cancellations received 7-3 days prior will receive a 50% refund. Any and all cancellations 2 days or less before the class/course are not eligible for a refund. Cancellations which are at least 24 hours prior to the class may transfer their booking to another applicable date or find a substitute student to take their place. If you need to cancel after the 7 day window, please contact the store. Wooten Clayworks cannot reschedule with less than 24 hours notice due to the inability to fill the space that was taken from another potential student. Please note there is a 2 student minimum for classes to run. Students will be notified the day prior if the class has to be cancelled and will receive a full refund.
